Katy Perry wows the crowds at Academy
The music of Katy Perry filled the o2 Academy last night, as hordes of teenage girls helped the singer out with hit tune I kissed a girl.
Clad in her usual 1950s pin-up style, Perry reeled off well-known songs from her album One Of The Boys, including Hot n Cold and Waking Up In Vegas.
With a sparkly set and clever costume changes the Californian starlet really got the crowd dancing at the sell-out Newcastle gig.
One lucky fan from Middlesbrough was visibly ecstatic as she was invited up on stage to perform with her idol.Apart from Perry’s own tunes, she also performed several covers, including a jazzed-up version of Build Me Up Buttercup and Please Mr Postman, which got the delighted crowd singing along.
This gig really re-inforced Perry’s amazing vocal ability and song-writing skills which sets her apart from the usual melange of pop starlets.
