The always chirpy Katy Perry didn’t raise a smile as she stepped out in New York yesterday and given Russell Brand’s latest revelation, it’s hardly surprising.
The comedian has confirmed the singer’s cameo appearance in his new Hollywood movie has been left on the cutting room floor.
A love-scene between the pair has been dropped from Get Him To The Greek because it was ‘too cheesy’ for viewers.
Perry, who starred as herself, filmed the part back in September before she officially started dating Brand.
The film is the sequel to Brand’s hit Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where he plays rocker Aldous Snow.Russell, who is set to wed Perry in India later this year, told MTV: I’ve not asked [what happened to the scene] because its slightly awkward, nor have I told her.
‘I think it might be because it would seem kind of cheesy to have her and I in the movie together.’
Perry was all excited about the part at the time, saying: ‘My scene called for me to make out with him. And on the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny. I hop like a bunny when I’m happy.’
The film, which also stars comedian Johan Hill, sees other cameos from Harry Potter star Tom Felton, Christina Aguilera, Pink and P Diddy.
