Katy Perry has revealed why she got Snoop Dogg on her number one single California Gurls.
The star admitted she made the decision after doing her research on the net. Russell Brand’s other half explained:
“I was Wikipedia-ing all the original west coast people and I was thinking to myself, who is still relevant, who is like the best, cherry on top for this, and it was obvious that it was Snoop.”
Perry added: “He did ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ a couple years ago, he did ‘Sexual Seduction’ – he’s still Mr. Gin and Juice, I mean he doesn’t age. He’s the Doggfather.”
The decision certainly seems to have paid off with California Gurls hitting the top spot in the UK and the US this week
In another recent interview Katy explained why she’s unlikely to have a Britney style breakdown. She told Radio 2:
“My first record didn’t take off until I was 23 so I was perhaps in a different headspace to someone who became successful at a younger age.
“If you’re starting at 14 or 15 your maturity hasn’t fully evolved. I’m not going to say I won’t mess up, because someday I might want to shave my head. But not today because I’ll get sunburn!”
