Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that’s why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
If you were to put together a totally off-the-wall cocktail party, who would you invite? If your guest list included the likes of legendarily odd film director David Lynch, acclaimed actor Ed Norton, veteran star Kyle MacLachlan, sexy actress Rose McGowan, “House” hottie Lisa Edelstein and VIP couple Katy Perry and Russell Brand, then you missed the fete of a lifetime. On Monday night (December 13), all those people gathered together at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City for the second annual David Lynch Foundation’s Change Begins Within benefit. The director’s organization seeks to provide help to young people via transcendental meditation, which Lynch has practiced for years. The foundation also sponsors a program called Operation Warrior Wellness, which seeks to provide help to veterans suffering from war-related stress disorders.
Perry and Brand weren’t the only stars enjoying some city lights, as Paul McCartney played a huge show at the Apollo Theater in Harlem (attended by the likes of Martha Stewart, Alec Baldwin and Howard Stern, among others) and “Burlesque” stars Christina Aguilera and Kristen Bell were both seen in various spots in London while promoting their Golden Globe-nominated film
