Katy Perry To Release ‘Last Friday Night (TGIF)’ As Next Single

Katy Perry’s next single is set to be ‘Last Friday Night (TGIF)’.
The ‘Firework’ singer has also revealed the official artwork for the song – which appears on her latest album ‘Teenage Dream’ – features the 26-year-old beauty wearing a mouth guard and glasses, and looking very nerdy.
The picture was taken when Katy – who is married to comedian Russell Brand – hosted the Teen Choice Awards last year alongside co-hosts and stars of ‘Glee’ Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale and Mark Salling.
And Katy looks to have already shot the video for the single, as she recently tweeted: “I told someone about my new music video I just filmed & they responded with “wow, that’s gonna break the internet”…should I knock on wood?”
Details of the video for her track are yet to be released, but if it’s anything like the unusual album cover then fans could be in for a treat.
News of her single release comes at a successful time for Katy, as she was recently second in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World list.
She narrowly missed out on top spot to model-and-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who is set to star in the forthcoming ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ movie.
Earlier this week, Katy finished third in ‘Maxim’ magazine’s Hot 100 list, behind second-placed Olivia Munn and Rosie.
Perhaps she can manage a number one hit with ‘Last Friday Night (TGIF)’, as she did with ‘California Gurls’, which also appears on her ‘Teenage Dream’ album and features ‘Sensual Seduction’ rapper Snoop Dogg.
‘California Gurls’ shot Katy to top spot in US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK singles chart, but Snoop suggested afterwards that the song’s success had a lot to do with him.
He previously told blackbookmag.com: “I worked with Katy because she’s a bad bitch, but she needed a gangster to complete the deal.
She had a cake with no candles on it, then she put me on ‘California Gurls’, and it went to number one.”
Time will tell whether she needed the ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper’s help with her latest single. I doubt she will.
