Not only will Katy Perry and Coldplay be performing on the Grammy Stage Feb. 12, the two popsters will be honoring Paul McCartney two days prior at this year’s MusiCares tribute concert. Alicia Keys is also listed as a performer.

Part of an annual tradition dating back to 1991, this year’s MusiCares Person of the Year concert will be held in Los Angeles, with tickets ranging from $1,500 to $100,000. It sounds awfully pricey, even with that lineup, but it’s for a good cause: MusiCares offers a safety net for musicians who need assistance in times of financial, personal, or medical crisis.

In addition to Coldplay, Perry, and Keys, this year’s list of performers includes Foo Fighters, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones, and past Person of the Year honorees James Taylor and Tony Bennett — as well as McCartney himself, who’ll be promoting his latest album, the collection of pop standards ‘Kisses on the Bottom.’

Katy Perry could be headed to the big-screen — and in 3D, to boot.

Paramount has initiated talks with Perry’s camp, as well as Imagine Entertainment, to create a documentary-style 3D film centered on the powerhouse singer-songwriter.

Dealmaking is still in the early stages, and no director is officially on board yet. But both sides are eager to make the details work, and insiders say it’s just a matter of working out the logistics. A source close to the dealing says Paramount wants to use the model it employed for its successful concert film featuring Justin Bieber, “Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.” That film, released February 11, 2011, holds the domestic box office record for a concert film with $73 million. (The worldwide record is held by Michael Jackson’s “This Is it,” which grossed $261.2 million in 2009.)

After a long absence, concert films have come back in vogue in recent years, especially those that focus on young-skweing acts and include a documentary aspect allowing fans into the personal lives of the stars. Katy Perry will take the stage at the Grammy Awards on February 12. The two-time nominee was announced as the latest performer on Wednesday (February 1).

The currently blue-haired pop star is up for Record of the Year for her feel-good empowerment track, “Firework.” The Teenage Dream single is also up for Best Pop Solo Performance. This is hardly her first time performing on the show.

At the 2011 Grammys, she performed her songs “Not Like the Movies” and “Teenage Dream.” The Valentine-themed performance also included the debut of footage from her wedding to her now-estranged husband, Russell Brand. In 2009, Perry performed her breakthrough hit “I Kissed a Girl” surrounded by giant, glittering pieces of prop fruit. And in 2010 she took the stage at the Grammy Nominations show and sang her ubiquitous candy-coated track, “California Gurls.”

The same day that Perry was announced as a performer, fellow nominee Drake was announced as one of the night’s big presenters, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley.

Adele announced her long-rumored Grammy performance on Tuesday. It marks her first performance since a November vocal surgery. “I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards,” Adele said. “It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.” Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj are also confirmed to perform live at the 54th annual awards show, which will be hosted by LL Cool J.

Does that mean something extra special? Probably. But maybe not! We heard later last year that her producer from Teenage Dream and Katy herself hit the studio for something new, but he never actually confirmed what it was! Well this just might be it!

I walked over to Katy Perry’s record label. She’s on Capital, which is under EMI. I met Greg Thompson, executive vice president of marketing and promotion at EMI.

“Did you guys end up in the black?” I asked.

“As far as I know, yes,” he said.

“How do you not know?!”

“I believe we did. Absolutely,” he said.

But how much did they spend on Katy Perry? And how much did they make?

The 27-year-old “Firework” singer has unfollowed her soon-to-be ex-husband on Twitter. As of Friday, Perry is still one of the 78 people Brand subscribes to via the social networking site.

It’s not surprising, given that Perry is only communicating with Brand, 36, via phone or email. “She’s limiting those interactions,” a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly (out now). “He’s being so atrocious that she feels like she never really knew him.”
Perry has been keeping Brand off her mind by focusing on her career: she performed in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Thursday, and she recently shot an Adidas ad in Santa Barbara, Calif.

“She doesn’t want to look battered and have people for sorry for her,” a Perry source tells Us. “She’s very strong and confident.”

Katy Perry may not have been in the house for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday night, but the five-time winner certainly appreciated all the trophies from afar.

Perry had been up for seven awards and managed to take home five of them at the fan-voted awards show, hosted by “The Big Bang Theory” leading lady Kaley Cuoco. So, what did Perry win? She nabbed Favorite TV Guest Star for her cameo on “How I Met Your Mother,” Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Song of the Year for “E.T” featuring Kanye West, Favorite Music Video for “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” and Favorite Tour Headliner.

SOMETIMES being a no-show means you end up stealing the show. At least, that’s what happened to singer Katy Perry when she declined to show up for the 38th annual People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Perry, who recently split from husband Russell Brand, ended up winning in five categories, including Favourite Female Artist.

Perry also won for Favourite Tour Headliner, Song Of The Year for E.T. (which featured rapper Kanye West), Favourite Music Video for Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), and even took home an acting award as the Favourite TV Guest Star for her appearance on the CBS hit series, How I Met Your Mother.

The TV series was also a winner, beating the likes of Modern Family, Two And A Half Men and Glee to take the Favourite Network TV Comedy award, and Mother star Neil Patrick Harris nabbed the Favourite TV Comedy Actor trophy. Katy Perry and Russell Brand hadn’t spoken about divorce prior to their split.

Although the pair were said to be having “normal couple problems” before the actor-and-comedian filed for divorce on December 30 -- just over a year after they first tied the knot -- Perry reportedly had no idea Russell was considering ending their marriage for good.

A source said: “Katy and Russell were having normal couple problems. There was no talk of divorce around Thanksgiving. It all happened right before Christmas but no one, not even Katy saw the divorce coming.”

While the singer is said to be “devastated” at the marital split, the insider added that there is “zero chance” of the couple rekindling their romance.

Last night, we were wandering around an Ulta store and we literally thought, “What kind of mascara can give me eyelashes like Katy Perry’s?”

After trying on what seemed like seven thousand brands we gave up because a) we didn’t want our eyelashes to fall out and b) nothing was getting us those long, luxurious lashes.

Well, pretty soon, we’ll be able to walk into that same Ulta and walk out with Katy Perry-style eyelashes!

Katy already has two perfumes, Meow and Purr, but the beauty-obsessed lady is looking to expand her empire with expansive lashes via a fake eyelash company called Eylure.

According to a press release from the company, Perry “had a very clear idea of what she wanted to achieve and was involved in every step of the design process.”

Saying that Perry is a huge part of the eyelash designing process, the eyelashes are supposedly a “direct extension of her own personal style.”

British Prime Minister David Cameron ’hates’ the 25-year-old’s pop-tastic music (according to PerezHilton.com) and isn’t afraid to admit it!

In an interview with the UK’s Daily Telegraph, Cameron said the “appalling” music choices of his children, including Katy Perry and Bruno Mars, are “beginning to infect my iPod”.

Ouch! Maybe this is a nationalistic response to American Katy’s forthcoming divorce from British native, Russell Brand? Although we’d expect Cameron to be a little more diplomatic when it comes to foreign affairs.

Hilariously, the British PM also ‘proudly’ admitted he’s finished the “Angry Birds” computer game, and is keen on playing “Fruit Ninja” on his iPad.
