Kristen Stewart has joked that she will be using Katy Perry again to divert attention after she led her “entourage” at Coachella music festival last month.

The 21-year-old actress was on Jimmy Kimmel, where she explained that she’s too embarrassed to demand VIP treatment unlike her buddy Katy Perry, who led their group through the crowds to the best area.

On Monday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kristen said: “I have a buddy who has absolutely no qualms being in front of millions of people. I’m not dropping – I feel like a weirdo right now – I was with Katy Perry.

“I walked behind her through the entire [crowd]… she wanted to sit up front. She’s like, ‘Hey, you want to go watch the Tupac stuff? Katy Perry is one of five possible candidates to replace Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland on The X Factor, according to reality show judge Louis Walsh.

Walsh, who has been a permanent fixture on the show’s judging panel since it began in 2004, let slip to Irish Herald that Perry is one of the favourites to take over from Rowland in this year’s show.

He also revealed the identities of a further four candidates for the role. They are former Pussycat Doll and current X Factor USA presenter, Nicole Scherzinger, Spice Girls‘ Mel B, Anastasia and Sharon Osbourne, who was a judge on the first four series.

Louis Walsh told the paper:

These are the five people that they’re looking in terms of a replacement for Kelly. I’ve worked with Nicole and Katy before and I would love to work with them again, they were fantastic. Mel B has done the X Factor Australia and could easily do it in Britain as she knows the format so well.

Katy – whose new bloke Rob Aackroyd was spotted leaving her house in the States – said: “I’ve always wanted to make something like an acoustic record.

“My favourite record is Patty Griffin’s Flaming Red. I discovered it when I was in Nashville.

“I definitely want to do a Patty Griffin-esque thing at some point. It’s something that I’m really excited about because I know I can do it and I haven’t really played that card yet.”

Katy’s first album was influenced by the gospel music she grew up listening to, but country is new territory for her.

But her new tunes won’t have much in common with the music her fella Rob plays – as a guitarist for Florence And The Machine.

July 31, 2013 is the slated release date for the sequel to last year’s live-action adaptation of The Smurfs.

As of now, the entire cast that lent their voices to the Smurf characters in the first film are returning for the sequel, and some additional big names are throwing their names on to the cast list as well. Collider claims that talented actors like Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria, and Katy Perry will be joined by Brendan Gleeson (In Bruges), Christina Ricci (Black Snake Moan), and J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm).

The Hollywood Reporter explains what characters the three actors will play in the sequel. Ricci will voice Vexy, Smurfette’s (Perry) evil counterpart. Smoove will voice a character that will be introduced in the sequel named Hackus who is supposed to be much naughtier than the other Smurfs. Given Smoove’s film roles and writing credits, ‘naughty’ is definitely a fitting character attribute. Gleeson will be the only of the three new additions to provide himself as a physical actor. He will portray Victor Doyle, Harris’ character’s stepfather.

The Smurfs director Raja Gosnell is set to return for the sequel and the returning voices include; Sofia Vergara, Jonathan Winters, Alan Cumming, Fred Armisen, George Lopez, Anton Yelchin and John Oliver.

The 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards have set a date. The annual Toronto block party is on for June 17 — so plan those alternate TTC routes, accordingly — and the first famous-person to submit their RSVP is Katy Perry.

The pop star, who’s the first performer booked for the show, last played the MMVAs in 2010, just as her ability to lactate Cool Whipbecame a delicious element of her pop legacy. This time, it seems she’ll be at the show to remind wristband-holders, TV viewers, and Queen Street gawkers to check out her upcoming 3-D concert movie,Katy Perry: Part of Me, which is due out July 5 — though we expect a few thousand pairs of specs won’t be required for an eye-popping MMVA spectacle. A nice dress — and maybe some pyrotechnic undergarments — should be adequate.

Further performers will be rolled out in the weeks leading up to the show, which will be broadcast live from MuchMusic’s Toronto HQ, Sunday, June 17 at 9 p.m. ET.

The hottest music event of the summer will take place at Wembley Stadium in London on 9th June 2012.

The ‘Teenage Dream’ star will make a special appearance at the event just months after concluding her massive ‘California Dreams’ world tour.

That jaunt came in support of her critically acclaimed second album ‘Teenage Dream’, which dominated albums charts around the globe.

The album included the singles ‘California Gurls’, ‘Firework’ and ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’.

Pop singer Katy Perry is gearing up to perform on next week’s American Idol!

This will mark the singer’s fifth time taking the stage to perform on the talent competition. Reportedly, she will be singing her newest single, Part Of Me on the results show next Thursday.

As you may already know, fan favorite Colton Dixon was eliminated on Thursday’s eliminationepisode. It was a shock to see Colton get eliminated, considering that he had never been in the bottom three before. Still, he took it like a champ.

Now, we are left with Elise Testone, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh, Skylar Laine and Phillip Phillips remaining in the competition.

He spotted Perry having a dance at his Coachella set and made the offer onFacebook as a result.

“I think I saw Katy Perry dancing on midnight city yesterday night,” he wrote. “Katy, let me write your next album:).”

If Katy is going down the planned “fucking dark” route, she’s found the perfect gloompop producer. She tweeted after his set: “M83 ONLY.”

Three months ago,Katy Perry sought revenge on her ex-husband, Russell Brand, when she channeled her anger in a new bitter ditty “Part of Me,” but these days, Perry is singing a different tune.

“Katy’s been trying to get him back!” a close Perry pal tells Us Weekly of the eight-time Grammy nominee, 27. “She’s a lost soul right now.”

What led to the singer’s change of heart? A solo trip to India April 3 — the same place where she wed Brand, 36, in 2010. “She’d already been missing Russell,” an insider explains. “Being back there stirred up even more old feelings.”

Perry may pine for her ex, but a friend of the singer tells Us a reconciliation with the British comic — who had a series of flings in the wake of filing for divorce December 30 — is a long shot.

“Right now, Katy and Russell are trying to get to the point where they can at least be friends,” says a Perry pal.

Soon, however, she’ll also be coming to a movie theater near you, starring in a new documentary/3D concert film about her latest tour that Katy swears will give us a different perspective about her. “One of my main reasons for doing this is that people think of me as though I’m Dorothy in the ruby slippers,” she tells Teen Vogue, referring to “The Wizard of Oz.” “I want them to see everything else that’s involved. Yes, I am her, but at the end of it all, I’m also the guy behind the curtain.”

The 27-year-old explains that the project was only somewhat inspired by other musicians who’ve given fans a peek at their life backstage, such as Madonna in “Truth or Dare” or Justin Bieber in “Never Say Never.” “I wanted to document the tour, because when we started to book these really big venues, I felt like I was going all in. And I figured that by the end of it I’d be bankrupt or else I’d look like the smartest music businesswoman of my age, and I thought either outcome would be interesting,” the recently divorced Perry reveals. “More than that, though, I wanted to show people this parade that surrounds me … I wanted them to see the engine. I think sometimes they look at me and wonder, How is it possible that she continues to have this kind of success? Why are the stars so aligned for her?
