Katy Perry is receiving a good bit of success with her song “E.T” featuring Kanye West and now she is holding her spot at #1.

Perry’s song is reportedly still on top of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, states Reuters. Coming in behind her is her good friend Rihanna with her song “S&M.”

The top five were rounded out with the Black Eyed Peas, Cee Lo Green and Lady Gaga.

There is feverish excitement in some quarters at the news Katy Perry’s mother is touting for publishers for her book of revelations.

The planned autobiography is generating interest because of the dramatic turnaround which transformed little Katy from a good, God-fearing girl brought up by strict Christian pastor parents, to a kinky boob-flashing pop babe who made her name singing about the joys of lesbian snogs before marrying an ex-drug addict.

It’s no surprise there is public and media appetite for hearing the story straight from the pastor’s mouth.

EMI and their roster of pop stars are offering their clothes, concerts tickets, and an assortment of fan must-haves for a great cause. Partnering with the Red Cross, EMI is hosting a worldwide auction for victims affected by last month’s earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Starting today, fans can visit EMI Family 4 Japanon Ebay and scoop up things like Katy Perry’s California Dreams Tour cupcake trampoline.

Not into that? Well, maybe you’d like Chris Martin’s  jacket from the Viva la Vida world tour. What about Daft Punk’s 1987 Ferrari 412 from their Electroma movie? Or a guitar signed by Willie Nelson? They’re all there for the picking. The first half of the sale ends April 15; the second from April 11 to the 21st.

To top that off, EMI plans to match the cash earned up to a maximum of one million euros. Classy move, right? Weeks ago iTunes released Songs for Japan, featuring 38 tracks of well-known hits with proceeds going to the ailing country. It’s nice to see the entertainment community playing its part.

Marriage is most important to Katy Perry.

The “E.T.” singer married British actor and comedian Russell Brand last October and she says he comes first.

“My husband is my number one priority. We have an amazing relationship,” she told Hits Radio according to Monsters and Critics.

“It’s important that I’m not always rushing around everywhere too much. I have to take the time to live life and have experiences,” she added.

Katy Perry’s “E.T.,” featuring Kanye West, spent a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on Thursday, bolstered by the premiere of its effects-heavy video a week ago.

Rihanna’s “S&M” was also unchanged, at No. 2, while the Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough” rose two to No. 3. Cee Lo Green’s “F**k You (Forget You)” at No. 4 and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” at No. 5 each slipped one place.

Chris Brown’s “Look at Me Now,” featuring Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, rose one to No. 6; Jeremih’s “Down on Me,” featuring 50 Cent, jumped two to No. 7; Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor,” featuring Pitbull, was also up two, to No. 8; and Pink’s “F**kin’ Perfect” dropped one to No. 9.

British singer/songwriter Adele claimed her first top-10 hit in the United States as “Rolling in the Deep” soared seven places. The track comes from her hit album “21,” which recently ruled the Billboard 200 chart for three weeks, and is expected to reclaim its crown when data are released next Wednesday.

‘It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,’ she tells MTV News of looking out at the crowd during California Dreams Tour.

Katy Perry is currently on her California Dreams Tour, inspiring fans with anthems like “Firework.” But, as it turns out, Perry is just as inspired by her fans as they are by her.

“It turns me on to stare someone deep in their eyes,” she tells MTV News of looking out into the audience every night on her tour. “Sometimes I see all kinds of emotions. It’s a lot of emotion.

“It’s lovely, too, because I love people that are passionate about life and music in general,” she continued. “Music has been such a helping tool for me to get through so many things. That’s why I write a lot of times, is to continue to evolve as a person, and I can see the same thing has happened with other people; they’ve just adopted the song for themselves.”

What’s also inspiring Perry these days is outer space. She headed out of this world for her just-released ”E.T.” video, and she credits her new wave of fans for finally embracing the pop singer, allowing her the opportunity to be truly creative.

“It’s pretty exciting that I have the opportunities now to work with great directors and have 100 percent of my voice heard,” she said. “That’s always been the challenge as an artist, is for other people to jump onboard and see your vision correctly. And that’s why, sometimes, it’s hard for me to break out, especially on other labels, because my vision was always so strong, and I think with Teenage Dream, the record on a whole, I knew I wanted to give so many different flavors, so many different ideas and just make a different movie for each song, and I feel like I’ve done that.”

Katy Perry, the singer known for her cleavage and currently inescapable hit song ” Firework ,” recently confessed to being obsessed with cats in an interview with more! magazine. Apparently, Perry and her husband Russell Brand own three pussycat pets: Kitty Purry, Krusty and Morrissey.

Perry’s Twitter followers are often treated to tweets about the singer’s cats. On April 4, she tweeted a photo of Kitty Purry , Perry’s fluffy gray tabby, posed like cat queen in a shark-shaped bed. Since the photo was uploaded and shared, both the picture and term “kitty purry” seem to have gone viral. Kitty Purry landed a position as a trending topic on Twitter almost immediately after the photo was posted.

Coming on like a cross between Alice In Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and deleted scenes from Barbie’s bits of the Toy Story trilogy, Mrs Russell Brand’s stage show was all colours and sparkles; cakes and lollipops, feathers and bright lights.

The trouble is that, while Katy has a great voice, her collection of stage gimmicks and costume changes can easily distract from to the music. Sometimes this played in her favour – with a fair chunk of her latest album seeming only to be present in last night’s set to make up numbers – but elsewhere the show was visually a little too ‘noisy’. • Read full story…

Katy Perry has been hitting the road on her California Dreams World Tour, which hits the States in June. Her colorful live show includes costumes to match and choice cuts plucked from the singer’s repertoire. Some of those tunes, specifically songs from last year’s Teenage Dream, are proving to be more than just a good time for fans — they’re also inspirational.

“I always want to be completely honest and, for this record in particular, I knew from the outside world, a lot had changed. [But] I was hoping that I was still the same me, [the] kind of quirky, weird-perspective girl that I’ve always been,” she told MTV News recently. “But you know, there was a lot of distraction and glitz and glam. When you get to a certain point, you have to push it all away and remember what your core is, and that’s what I did for this record.”
