After seven long months on the road, which includes a total of 77 dates spread across four continents, Katy Perry is ready to return home. Her international “Hello Katy Tour” makes two of its final stops in Southern California, at the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday and at the Santa Barbara Bowl on Sunday. The vivacious, doe-eyed pop star and Santa Barbara native promises that she hasn’t run out of steam just yet and has saved her best for the hometown crowds.

Although her voice was a little strained during a phone chat earlier this week, as she kicked around London on a rare day off between gigs, she says that she’ll be at full force when she gets to Los Angeles. Perkier than a cheerleader on Twinkie Island, Katy Perry is psyched about her hometown show Sunday at the Santa Barbara Bowl.

The singer, whose smash album “One of the Boys” has sold zillions of copies, was originally slated to play there May 9, but had to scrap the show after the Jesusita fire broke out in the area. Now she’s ready to return, and fans can expect a show packed with hits like “I Kissed a Girl,” “Waking Up in Vegas” and “Thinking of You.” If you want a double dose, she’s playing the day before at the Hollywood Palladium.

Perry, whose parents were both preachers, grew up in Santa Barbara, where she used to sing at the farmers market. She dropped out of high school, recorded a gospel album, and then, after a few false starts, struck platinum with “One of the Boys.”

Perry, just a young lady having a blast because she can, had lots to say about lots of stuff recently.

The music of Katy Perry filled the o2 Academy last night, as hordes of teenage girls helped the singer out with hit tune I kissed a girl.

Clad in her usual 1950s pin-up style, Perry reeled off well-known songs from her album One Of The Boys, including Hot n Cold and Waking Up In Vegas.

With a sparkly set and clever costume changes the Californian starlet really got the crowd dancing at the sell-out Newcastle gig.

Sydney designer Katie Perry, who owns a lounge wear clothing label, was asked by the singer’s lawyers in May to withdraw her trademark application to use her name for her label.

But the singer dropped the case just hours before it was set for court.
